Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics – Sealed System Mechanics
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanics are skilled professionals who install, maintain, repair, and overhaul residential central air conditioning systems, as well as commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
This non-vocational course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the theory, installation, design, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of closed/sealed refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Students will gain practical experience testing and repairing a wide range of components, including hermetic compressors, condensers, capillary tubes, expansion valves, driers, receivers/accumulators, evaporators, thermostats, and defrost timers. The course also emphasizes the safe handling of refrigerants and teaches proper soldering and brazing techniques.
Students will learn to use essential tools and equipment, such as leak testers, manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, and other specialized testing and safety devices. Instruction also covers correct methods for changing and evacuating systems, ensuring both efficiency and safety.
Participants in our structured course receive both theoretical instruction and hands-on training, guided by highly skilled instructors.
This non-vocational course specifically focuses on Sealed System Mechanics, and we are proud to be the only college in Canada offering specialized instruction on Refrigerant Sealed Systems.
