Domestic Appliance Program
Working in the Domestic setting as a Gas Appliance Service Technician, the individual must complete Gas Technician 3 modules 1-9 before entering the Domestic Appliance course. The Domestic Appliance course teaches students TSSA Modules 11-16. After successful completion of this course, students will be forwarded to write the TSSA Domestic Appliance licensing exam.
Students who complete our structured program will receive theory instruction together with the hands-on training methodology taught by highly trained instructors. Areas of study include; appliance service safety, troubleshooting and maintenance repair, and schematic diagrams and parts look up.
This is an intermediate level program for individuals who are looking to upgrade their skills in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry, and Appliance Servicing industry.
It is a 13 week program where students will take part in both theoretical and practical studies in class.
A Gas Technician Domestic Appliance (DA) license will enable you to install, inspect, alter, purge, activate, repair, service or remove a natural gas or propane appliance that has an input of 100,000 Btuh or less without supervision in residential and commercial applications.
As part of the program we also offer job search assistance.
This program covers the DA modules 11 to 16 and the applicable codes, acts and regulations.
This program will provide you with hands on skills and full knowledge of the skills, safety procedures and theories you will require as a Gas Technician certificate holder.
The theory and practical examinations will be administered by Appliance Technical Institute of Canada at our location upon completion of the course.
