  1. Where is the Appliance Technical Institute of Canada located?

  2. Do you offer financial assistance or payment plans?
    Yes, we offer flexible payment plans. Please speak with our admissions advisor for more information.
  3. Do you provide job placement assistance?
    Yes, we provide support in exploring job placement opportunities with local employers; however, employment or placement is not guaranteed.

Appliance Service Technician Program

  1. What is the duration of the Appliance Service Technician Program?
    The Part-Time Program is 24 weeks & the Full-Time Program is 22 Weeks.
  2. What certification do I receive after completing the program?
    Upon successful completion, you will receive a Certificate, qualifying you for entry-level positions in the appliance service field.
  3. What topics are covered in the Appliance Service Technician Program?
    Topics include diagnostics, electrical systems, appliance maintenance, and repair for major household appliances.
  4. Is gas training included in this program?
    No. However, we recommend taking the Gas Technician 3 Program in addition to the Appliance Service Technician Program if you wish to work with gas appliances.

Gas Technician 3 (G3) Program

  1. What is the Gas Technician 3 Program?
    This TSSA-accredited entry-level program prepares students to work under supervision on gas-fired equipment under 400,000 BTU/hr.
  2. How long is the G3 program?
    The Part-Time Program is 12 weeks & the Full-Time Program is 4.5 Weeks.
  3. Will I be eligible to write the TSSA G3 Licensing Exam?
    Upon successfully completing the program and meeting the TSSA requirements (80% attendance and a minimum of 74% on each theory and practical test), you will be eligible to write the TSSA G3 Licensing Exam.
  4. What materials am I allowed to bring into the exam?
    Only the physical (paper) codebook is allowed during the TSSA G3 Licensing Exam. PDF or digital copies are not permitted.

Admission & Registration

  1. What are the admission requirements?
    Have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent; or be at least 18 years of age (or age specified in program approval) and pass a Superintendent approved qualifying test.
  2. How do I apply?

  3. Is there an enrollment deadline?
    Yes. Enrollment closes one day before the start date of each program. We recommend applying early as spots are limited.

Classroom & Lab Information

  1. Where are classes held?
    Classes are held online via Zoom & on-site at our training facility, which includes a fully equipped workshop for hands-on training.
  2. Are lectures recorded for student use?

No, live lectures delivered via Zoom are not recorded for student use. However, they may be recorded for administrative              and compliance purposes. Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes and take their own notes during instruction.

  1. Are there safety protocols in the lab?
    Yes. Safety is our priority. All students are trained in safety procedures, and safety features such as fire extinguishers, E-stops, and clearly marked exits are present and regularly inspected.
  2. What if I miss a class?
    We recommend attending all classes. However, if you miss a session, please contact your instructor immediately to discuss makeup work or review sessions.

Transcript & Credential

  1. When will I receive my transcript?
    Transcripts are provided within 60 days of successfully completing a program or officially withdrawing/dropping out.
  2. How can I get a copy of my transcript?
  • Transcripts are available in your Student Portal.
  • You can also request a transcript by emailing admin@atinstitute.ca.
  1. When will I receive my diploma or certificate?
    The college will issue you any applicable credential (diploma or certificate) within 60 days of successfully completing a program. The college does not have to issue your credential until you have paid your fees in full although you are always entitled to a copy of your transcript.
  2. Can I get a replacement diploma or certificate?
    Yes. There is a $50.00 fee for each replacement. To request one:
  • Email admin@atinstitute.ca
  • You’ll be asked to verify your account information and submit payment
  • Once the request and payment are received, your replacement will be processed accordingly.
